SOLD - 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible
This 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible is finished in Diamond Blue Metallic over Saville Grey leather upholstery and a power-operated dark blue soft top. The XJS is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car features impact bumpers with black rubber and chrome trim, quadruple headlights, fog lights, a retractable antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. The convertible top comes with both snap cover for diving with the top down and a rain cover when the top is up.
Seller is the 3rd owner and has owned the car since October 2011. The car has been garage kept and serviced routinely.
The original Basketweave-style 15″ alloy wheels were replaced (02/26/97 due to one of the wheels being defective) by 16” wheels with Jaguar-logo center caps prior to the current owner. Wheels mounted with Michelin Defender tires, and a spare Basketweave-style 15″ wheel wearing a vinyl cover is located in the trunk. The Tires were replaced in the Spring of 2013 at approx. 80,000 miles.
A leather-trimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer along with auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 93,999k miles. Seller indicated that the tachometer stopped working approximately 1000 miles ago. Also noted the oil pressure gauge works intermittently and does not reflect the actual oil pressure. The heated bucket seats feature electrical lumbar support adjustment, and they are joined by a color-coordinated center console and door panels. Equipment includes woodgrain trim, air conditioning, an AM/FM DVD stereo, an onboard computer, and power windows and locks.
A/C works but needs to be charged. The big V-12 engine does not like South TX summers and will not restart until engine cools usually takes 30 min to an hour. Can easily be fixed by adding dual electric fans.
The convertible top and headliner was replaced in June 2013. A new battery was installed August 2023. The seller has a copy of service records dating back to 1997. The seller also has the original window sticker showing the 1990 purchase price of $57,000. Owner’s manual is also included in the glove box.
Asking $15,500 or best offer.
